The Institute

December, 1983

The Institute’s founder and director, Dr. Carlos Robles-Jara, started his professional activities in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive pathologies in December 1983.

The IECED’s started their activities at the Pacific Medical Center in Portoviejo. The inaugural meeting took place on October 8, 1998 in the auditorium of the Pacific Medical Center in Portoviejo, Ecuador.

With the development of the nearby city of Manta in recent years, our Institute began to serve this community on February 4, 2000 in the San Gregorio Clinic.

On May 7, 2004 we changed our location in Portoviejo to the San Antonio Clinic, which is currently the most complete private center of its kind in Ecuador for the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases and which possesses human and technological resources of the highest quality.
